Trivial Music: Start off with a roadtrip

Entertainment Post
by Nathan Mattise / through

One of the many June promises was to start up a few more reoccurring post ideas (like the Five Signs, except hopefully done more often). That said, today debuts…Trivial Music. Every so often a themed mixtape will appear for your listening pleasure. Below is the first one and if you read on you’ll get a little perspective.

In Pursuit of the Trivial staff

So if we’re doing mixtapes it only makes sense to start by focusing on some of their most basic uses. Roadtrips are right up there next to courting / love as far as mix intentions are concerned. I’ve even been quoted in a Scripps article about my preferences for driving music. However, for the inaugural 5-track edition of Trivial Music the focus is all on the foundation of any great roadtrip:

The car.

Track listing:

1 “Just What I Needed” – The Cars

2 “I Love You Cause I Have To” – Dogs Die In Hot Cars

3 “Whoever You Are (Spanish Version” – Geggy Tah

4 “Keep The Car Running” – The Arcade Fire

5 “Drive My Car” – Paul McCartney

Trivial Music is the one glimpse you get into Nate’s musical preferences. If you’re not feeling what the kid spins (even if his selection is limited by the theme-o-the-day) e-mail him.
