History Trivial Links
Compiled by Nathan Mattise
- Anyone familiar with music history knows Led Zeppelin, and anyone familiar with Led Zeppelin history knows you couldn’t see them in concert during my lifetime (RIP John Bonham). Classic-rock obsessed twentysomethings can however see Zeppelin music performed live with only one difference – “d” for “z.” Lez Zeppelin is an all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band currently touring the country. Their music is pretty solid and as Chuck Klosterman noted, it’s always interesting to observe a tribute band.
- 1950s female characters from the 1980s are much classier than their counterparts from today (according to 1950s female characters from the 1980s).
- Every History Trivial Links will feature a journalism link – since everyone keeps telling me the industry will soon be history. PBS offers 10 reasons everyone is full of crap.
- Finally, each History Trivial Links will also feature this. On Aug. 1, the first Six Flags park opened in Texas and Francis Scott Key (composer of the National Anthem) was born.
